Laura Mann Magevney
Director of Christian Formation
Laura Mann Magevney received her bachelor degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1991, Laura and her husband, Michael Magevney, founded Break Away, a national non-profit organization that trained college and high school students to develop alternative spring break volunteer programs at their schools. Laura then returned to Vanderbilt earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Vanderbilt University School of Law and a Master of Divinity from the Vanderbilt University Divinity School. After graduation from law school she served for several years as an Assistant Public Defender in Nashville before joining the staff of St. George’s Episcopal Church as their Director of Christian Formation. Laura has experience in children, youth and family ministries, as well as in teaching scripture and theology to adults. Laura spends her free time with her husband and three sons as well as volunteering in the Jacksonville community.
