St. Mark’s Choristers

St. Mark’s Choristers is for youth in the second grade and higher, and its purpose is to inspire in them a lifelong love of music, to teach them music fundamentals, to instill in them the importance of leadership, teamwork, and responsibility, and to provide musical leadership for Sunday’s 8:45 family service all within the context of a fun and worthwhile after-school program.

The Choristers follow the Royal School of Church Music program in which they work through several levels of achievement (represented by colored ribbons) as they learn to sing, read music, and be leaders in worship. In addition to music, various fun activities are offered, including a yearly choir camp, free karate lessons, free tutoring, and occasional outings and fun days. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5:00, followed by optional karate lessons or tutoring until 5:45. This choir takes a break for the summer from roughly June until September.
