Confirmation and Reception

In the course of their Christian development, those Christians baptized as infants or children (and those baptized as adults by a priest) are expected, when they are ready and have been duly prepared:

  • To make a mature and public affirmation of their faith in Jesus Christ,
  • To reaffirm the vows made for them at baptism
To receive the laying on of hands by a bishop so that they may receive strength for continuing adult Christian ministry.

This rite is called the Sacrament of Confirmation. If you have been baptized, if you are penitent of your sins, and if you are ready to publicly affirm your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, then it is time for you to receive this sacrament. All that remains is for you to be duly prepared by being instructed in the Christian faith. For more information, please call Laura Magevney at 388-2681, or email
