St. Mark's Commitment to the Environment

Riverkeepers dinner - Community REsident

St. Mark's is proud to support The St. John's Riverkeeper. L to R: Fr. Donavan Cain, the Rev. Sandy Moyle, Bob Grubba, Beville Anderson, Greg Anderson, Jane Arnold, Lisa Grubba and Payson Tilden attended the annual Riverkeeper Oyster Roast in the fall.

St. Mark's is located on the banks of the St. John's River, and its beautiful waters lift our spirits. We celebrate regular services of worship now through our Day School in Stockton Park, even as we continue the tradition of a large ecumenical Easter Sunrise service there. We will continue to move to the park as appropriate for worship and fellowship. We hope to develop gardens on our campus that build on the great work of Lauren Mahoney from the Day School, to undertake water retention, recycling, energy use reduction and other important steps toward sustainability. In addition, we have changed and improved the food standards for our children at Sunday School and through the Day School. Our hopes for the campus reunification project include a tilt toward native plant species on our campus, the local residents who do best in our climate and location.
