Christian Formation Commission

Caroline Nichols, Commission Head

Under the leadership of a full time Christian Formation Director, the Christian Formation Commission encourages the formation and renewal of God’s people through Christian education and fellowship. The Christian Formation Commission meets regularly to evaluate and coordinate all events and ongoing educational programs.

Sunday School Classes for all ages are offered at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

Bible Study Groups and Study Groups are offered throughout the week at the church and in homes.

Vacation Bible School involves over 40 volunteers shepherding over 100 children within our parish and community in this fun and spirit-filled week.

Youth Confirmation Class and Adult Inquirers’ Class are offered during the year in preparation for confirmation, reception or reaffirmation.

Wonderful Wednesdays, (offered periodically throughout the year) include special programs on Wednesdays for all ages, small group meditations and studies.

Tuesdays in Lent Dinner, programs for all ages and Compline, are offered as part of our Lenten programming. At various times during Lent, Stations of the Cross, confession and spiritual direction are offered.

Special Parish Wide Intergenerational Events are offered throughout the year with special focus on times of celebration during the church year such as Pentecost, Blessing of the Animals, All Saints’ Day and Advent Fair with Advent Wreath Making.

St. Mark’s Teaching Series is an important opportunity for us to commit ourselves to deepened Christian learning and local evangelism. This series seeks to draw well-recognized preachers and theologians to St. Mark’s on a designated weekend each year.
