Nursery Information

Nursery – Birth to 3 years old
The McCarty Early Learning Center opens each Sunday, approximately 30 minutes before the start of the 8:45 a.m. service ( 8:00 a.m. service in the summer ) and remains open for the Sunday School hour and the 11 a.m. service ( 10:00 a.m. in the summer) . The Nursery provides a safe, secure place for children where they learn first hand about Jesus’ love through the hugs, smiles, songs and play of the nursery staff. Contact: Emily Strickland, 389-9525, for more information.

LOCATION: Our nurseries are located in the St. Mark's Early Learning Center adjacent to the church on Oxford Avenue.

STAFFING: Our nursery workers, provided by the church, are permanent paid employees enabling our young children to know them and feel secure in their care. The workers are trained professionals with current HRS licenses in child care as well as CPR and all have attended the Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Seminar required by the Diocese of Florida.

WEEKEND NURSERY is provided every Sunday from 8:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for 3 months through 4 years. Summer hours are from 7:45-11:15 a.m. on Sundays. Nursery I is for newborns through approximately 11 months (or until walking); Nursery II is for toddlers ages 12 months-2 years; and Nursery III is for preschoolers ages 2-3 years. The nurseries are furnished with cribs, tables, chairs and suitable toys and play equipment appropriate for the age.

SPECIAL EVENTS NURSERY is provided during special church-related events. Availability of this nursery will be advertised. This nursery is usually available by reservation only by calling the Church Office, 388-2681, by the published deadline. If a cancellation is made through the Church Office this space may be filled on a first come basis. Special Events Nursery will last no later than 9 p.m.

REGISTRATION: When your child enters the nursery for the first time, you will be given a registration form to fill out which will become a part of your child's record.

SIGN IN & PICK UP: Every time your child visits the nursery, you are asked to sign your child in and give the exact location of where you will be and who will be picking up your child. Please note--only the person assigned to pick up your child will be the one to whom your child will be released. This person must be over 12 years old. Parents are not to leave children in the nursery if they plan to leave church property.

PAGERS: Pagers are providers so that parents can be summoned from the Church to the Nursery in the event of any problem or concern.

PERSONAL ITEMS: Please bring your own disposable diapers, wipes and bottles. Label your diaper bags, clothing, bottles, etc. Please do not allow your child to bring peanut products, candy or gum to the nursery.

ILLNESS: Please do not bring your child to the nursery if he/she has a cold, diarrhea or fever. If these symptoms develop after the parents have gone, the child will be isolated and the parents will be notified.

Please remember our purpose is to provide safe and loving care for our children.
