"The King Will Separate the Nations"

Nov 26, 2023    Rev. Charlie Holt

Preached on Christ the King Sunday, this message from Reverend Holt offers a compelling and sobering reflection on Jesus’ teaching about the final judgment. Centering on Matthew 25’s parable of the sheep and the goats, Holt invites the congregation to open the eyes of their hearts—a phrase drawn from Ephesians 1—to perceive God's unfolding work in the world and understand the immense spiritual stakes involved in welcoming or rejecting Christ and His people.

Reverend Holt places the parable within the broader context of Jesus’ Olivet Discourse, a sermon about the end of the age. He explains that the separation of the nations is not based on general acts of charity but on how the world has responded to the emissaries of Christ—His disciples, missionaries, and faithful witnesses.
