"Redemption Through the Passover and the Cost of God's Son"

Sep 10, 2023    Rev. Charlie Holt

In this theologically rich and sobering message, Reverend Holt explores the deep meaning of redemption through the lens of the Passover and its fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Continuing the series through Exodus, he traces the story of Israel’s enslavement in Egypt, their transformation from indentured servants to chattel, and God’s response: a dramatic deliverance led by Moses and sealed by divine judgment.

Reverend Holt explains the escalating confrontation between Moses and Pharaoh, culminating in the tenth plague—the death of Egypt’s firstborn sons. Drawing on Exodus 4 and Romans 9, he presents a profound reflection: that God sees Israel as His firstborn son, and Pharaoh's refusal to release them would come at the cost of Pharaoh's own son. “A son for a son,” Holt states, “a life for a life.”
