St. Mark’s Episcopal Church offers traditional and contemporary worship experiences with Gospel-centered theology set forth in the Book of Common Prayer. Located in an historic neighborhood, canopied by oak trees and blessed with a beautiful campus, our church maintains a healthy balance of long-time generational members combined with those who are new to the Jacksonville community.
We are searching for candidates for the following positions:
Director of Communications
The Director of Communications will provide professional and consistent mediums of communication to members of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and also serve as a communication resource to all staff, ministries, and programs within the parish. This position will also be responsible for establishing and driving a multi-channel communications strategy, managing an active social media presence, redesigning the church website, and creating printed materials as requested in connection with parish events and special initiatives.
Nonprofit or church experience is a plus, but not required. Success in the position requires a knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies, understanding of copywriting, graphic design, layout, and publishing, working knowledge of content management systems, HTML coding, and digital graphics production, familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
The position requires approximately 37 hours per week. Employment at St. Mark’s also requires a background check and completion of all application forms, including the Episcopal Church Safeguarding program.
